    Anyone shooting a 6.5-06??

My Padre has a really nice 6.5-06, 03-A3 action, benchmark barrel and a nice sporter walnut stock. I printed him out a bunch of load data to get started with reloading, just wondering if anyone has been loading for it and has any info to share. He really likes r-22 powder and is using 129-130gr bullets. He might try some 140's.

given the greater capacity over say a 6.5 swede/260rem/6.5creed/6.5 lapua - I would definitely recommend the heavier weights if the twist rate will support it. do you know the twist? R22 is about perfect... R17 could give you some great results too (big alliant fan here)

He has shot a handful of 140's, but not enough to know yet, if they are the way to go. he plans on doing some more experimenting this year with the 140's.

His rifle is a 3 groove, 1:8.5 twist barrel. It should be fine with 140's, but with that twist, it may just prefer the 129/130 bullets. It does shoot fine with those bullets.
