Whats your favorite bolt gun lube(s)??

I had been going with CLP for several years, on pretty much all my pistols and rifles, but hate how it gets so dirty and dark after a few shots.

I have now switched to the red tetra type grease for the bolt, lugs and bolt slide rails. I then coat the lighter moving parts with a light clear oil, like rem-oil or such.

Seems to be working much better than the straight CLP treatment.

Since I switched what I am using, gonna go out and shoot this weekend, so will report on how well it works after several shots.

Well after shooting this weekend, I am pleased with the results of the new lubes. I used the red grease on the locking lugs and the slides. I used hoppes elite on the rest of the moving parts.

At the end of the day, the oil wasnt discolored and the red grease held up very well, so going to stick with this combo for now.
