    Pellet Grills

Looking to upgrade to a pellet grill. Propane grill just craped the bed so I'm looking for some new digs. Really like the idea of a Pellet Grill. I know they are really not a grill but anyways... Traegars were the stuff for awhile but I've heard the quality has suffered alot since they went Chinese. Looked at some others like Lousiana Grills, Yoder, Rektek and some other really high end stuff I can't afford. OK here we go..I have lots of direct input on the Traegars they are good so lets set them as the standard. I personally have a friend who has a Yoder. Let me tell you that this is built extremely tough. Plate steal not stamped sheet metal. It is also twice the price as all the other normal competators. Rektek seems cool, good controller slightly thicker metal but I havent been able to put my hands on one. Checked out the Lousiana grill at the local ACE HARDWARE. They look pretty good, as step above the Traegar not as beefy as the Yoder.Controller is cool with a meat probe! I really like my buddy Yoder but it twice the price. Second choice would be the Lousiana Grill. Anyone have some first hand input? Thanks Jason

I havent played with a pellet grill in quite awhile, when I was into it, I ran a traeger when they still made them here.
A guy on SGN had a thread on pellet grills, think it was Bugmasta, he bought a pretty damn nice one. I cant remember the brand, but I want to say it was in the 1200-1500 price range, lot of money for a grill. His reviews were excellent and he was quite happy with it.
I will see if I cant find that thread when I get a chance. I would like to get another one someday, but not gonna go Traeger.

The Yoder my friend bought is 3/16-1/4 inch plate steal. The actual structure I believe would last a lifetime ,maybe something to pass on to your children. Electonics, fans and auger motor will be consumable on any. I'm sure it would be worth the investment but damn I just can't do it. My propane grill and propane smoker are really starting to piss me off!
